Ghana's Vision 2020

In the Kakum National Park, Ghana, a suspension bridge leads through the rain forest at a height of 12 metres, thus allowing visitors an unusual experience of nature. This bridge has been rebuilt at Ghana's stand as an example of environmentally friendly tourism. From a platform on top of the Umbrella Tree one can look down onto the straw-thatched roofs of a traditional village. Inside the huts, there is information on "Ghana's Vision 2020", but also on the history of the slave trade on the West African "Gold Coast".

Artisans are weaving cloth using the Kente-technique or print Adinkra symbols onto them. In a grove on the edge, a cult site with an over-sized Ashanti chair for an entrance invites you to relax and contemplate.

Ghana intends to reach its ambitious goals for the next decades consciously preserving traditional values and skills.
