Between the Andes and the Amazon

The three zones of the Bolivian pavilion represent the country's three main ecosystems.ijouio The tropical Amazon region, the Chaco region and the majestic mountain ranges of the Andes chain are characteristic for the South American country, which was one of the first to put elements of the Agenda 21 into practice.

Some of the peoples living in these regions look back on a thousand-year tradition, in which they have learned to live in harmony with nature. Bolivia takes up this tradition today by presenting projects at the World Exposition which focus on the balance between humankind and nature and on the concept of sustainability. Other themes are a balanced economic development and the fight against poverty.
