A geyser shooting out of a cube into the air every now and then provides the eye-catcher for Iceland's pavilion. As one approaches, the island state's presentation appears as a blue cube covered by a layer of water.

On the inside, glimmering in a blue light, a spiral ramp ascends over a circular water basin. To the visitors looking onto the projection screen below, the island state presents itself with a film taken from a bird's eye perspective. Beginning over the Atlantic Ocean, a helicopter flight proceeds past the fjords and across the volcanic highlands - up close to a geyser and into the air alongside it. At this point, film and reality merge: the artificial geyser shoots through an opening in the ceiling into the air.
