Light and Stone make up Liechtenstein

Nation: Liechtenstein
National Day: 14.10.00

A radiant glass cube, which the visitor can enter by any one of four stone gateways - welcome to Liechtenstein's Pavilion. In its design, its architects have placed special emphasis on the elements "light" and "stone" as a direct allusion to the country's name.

The gateways, constructed from different types of stone - royal, economic, cultural and financial stones -, represent the most significant structures and interests of this principality. Each of these four entrances leads directly to four individual exhibits, located on a cross-shaped glass top construction, which features monitors, texts, objects and holograms. Towering above this ground floor exhibition, a detached platform displays exhibits on the theme of the environment. Portraits of citizens of Liechtenstein decorate the interior walls of the pavilion.
