Vistas from broad terraces

Nation: Monaco
National Day: 15.06.00

Spacious terraces and broad glass fronts offer a view of a harbour, boats and yachts. For its pavilion the principality of Monaco makes use of its geographical features as a Mediterranean country. The entire building has been conceived as a multi-media presentation, using light and mirror effects, and it highlights the multiple and glamorous facets of the state. A film show on a 360-degree cinema screen in the entrance area carries you off into the principality's past, present and future. Monaco demonstrates not only its cosmopolitan attitudes and culture but also its importance as an attractive financial centre.

Another film "Invisible Ocean" , shown in a 3-D cinema, deals with marine conservation. A pit stop, where racing drivers can take a break, reminds us of the Formula One race held in Monaco every year. Your visit to the Monegasque exhibition ends on the terraces overlooking the water.

Idea for children and teenagers: A bright red Ferrari like the one Michael Schumacher drove in the Formula-one race of Monte Carlo fills children and youngsters with enthusiasm in the pit stops. Teenagers might be especially interested in the film "Invisible Ocean" about the underwater world shown in the second circular cinema.
