"Be a ship which does not stay still, which offers glimpses of thousands of souvenirs, past histories and the present." Hungarians use this verse to describe their pavilion. The architect Gyrgy Vadsz constructed his draft accordingly: without walls or barriers and appearing even to be open on top. The design symbolises Hungary's thousand-year history and its future function as a pivot between East and West.
Visitors enter the building open in the north and south by passing through the "Gateway of Love." In the "Room of Spectacles" the technical achievements, the diverse culture, the handling of natural resources and examples of sustainable tourism are shown. With their exposition, the Hungarians chose to target young adults in particular.
