Morocco
A bridge between Europe and Africa
Everyone who takes the stairs and enters the Moroccan pavilion has the impression of having been transported to another world: between palm trees and fountains visitors smell spices and orange blossoms, men in long robes, or djellabahs, serve mint tea, and potters and coppersmiths show their work.

The atmosphere resembles that of the Djemaa-el-Fna Square in Marrakesh. The only people missing are the market criers. From the market square a bridge leads to the "ryad", the interior courtyard of a traditional Moroccan house, and to a reproduction of a narrow street in the historic Medina of Fez. Next to this, there are five small theme pavilions offering an overall view of nature conservancy and environmental protection in Morocco. The bridge symbolizes the connection between tradition and modern life, between Africa and Europe.
