China
China yesterday, today and tomorrow
A piece of the Chinese Wall, embedded in the pavilion's foundation stone, stands for a glance back upon the old China and its society. But modern China, too, is an element of the People's Republic's exhibit.

In particular, technological and scientific achievements and political challenges are documented: large-scale projects in the areas of water power generation and re-forestation, as well as the reintroduction of Hong Kong and Macao. These latter have been or will be returned to China by the former colonial powers Great Britain and Portugal. Hong Kong was reintroduced into the Chinese state in 1997; Macao followed in December 1999.

Idea for children and teenagers: The "time-space-tunnel" is a special experience for children. Space scales show what you would weigh for example on Mars. Touch screens help you to discover China.
