Iran
Water - the origin of life
The Persian garden as a representation of paradise on Earth - this idea can be traced back to the influence of Islam. In the Iranian Pavilion you can visit just such a paradise. Here water plays a vital role: canals determine the building's structure, cross other canals and flow into large basins of water which reflect the sky and the beauty of the world.

Visitors to Iran's pavilion can go for a walk through the garden and admire an exposition of Iranian art: carpets, miniatures and valuable inlay work.

Two additional expositions show Iranian architecture, bridge construction techniques and projects on artificial irrigation and inform visitors about the role of Iranian scientists and philosophers in the history of the world.
