Romania is a country of many faces. Different European cultures have shaped the national identity of the Romanians into a Rhapsody.

Inside of the overgrown pavillon, a world of symbolic cultural landscapes composes a rhapsody of architectural, artistic and cultural events. The imaginary flowing of the Danube on a glass wall along a "Horizontal Forest" leads up to the amphitheatre like "Mountain", which offers a large panorama over the events in the pavillion. A metaphoric journey starts with a multimedia suggestion of the Danube, a symbol for the merging of different European cultures. It ends with its Delta.

The visitors will experience the rehabilitation of the medieval city of Sibiu - a place of peaceful cohabitation of ethnic minorities. Next to it, the largest urban development project in Romania - Bucharest 2000 - will lead into the capital of Romania in the 21st century. Finally, in the event area over 100 live cultural events will render a dynamic vision of the diverse Romanian European Rhapsody.
