Who has not wanted to know what it feels like to be a cosmonaut? The Russian Federation's contribution to the EXPO makes this dream come true. One of its main attractions is a model of the famous space station, Mir, which visitors can climb into.

The Russian exhibition presents itself as a place of scientific and technical innovation - be it in space, in the air, under the sea or under the ice. For example, the Russians demonstrate how they exploit natural gas, mineral oil and diamond resources in the northernmost regions - from Murmansk to the Bering Straits, or how, with submarines, they search for new mineral resources under the polar ice.

Russia is a country holding more treasures than just mineral resources - it also has art treasures. A demonstration of this is an approximately six metre high "Easter egg", produced especially for the EXPO. It is shaped like one of the towers of the Kremlin and reminds the visitor of the famous Fabergé egg, made for Czar Nicholas II. Inside the "Easter egg" visitors can buy Russian art objects.
