Turkey
Bridge between Europe and Asia
Turkey takes its role as interface between Europe and Asia as the focal point of its contribution. As cradle of numerous cultures and origin of large empires - from the Hethites to the Ottoman empire - the country shares a great many historical and cultural roots with Europe.

Reproductions of historical monuments and excavation findings inside the pavilion bear witness to these common features. Going past the Trojan horse or the giant statue of Mount Nemrut, the visitor then arrives at an exhibition about tourism and biological diversity. Here once again, sustained development is the guiding motif for the reorganisation of this important branch of the economy.

The pavilion building itself is light and transparent, and reflects the hospitality and openness of the Turkish people.
