Brazil
One and a half million wooden pegs
One and a half million small handmade wooden pegs form the unusual exterior wall of Brazil's presentation. Visitors can leave an impression of their hand by pushing the pegs inward or outward.

When you enter the interior through a curtain of aluminium rods, you discover 13 interlocking rooms and corridors on two levels. Here, you can savour Brazilian music, literature and art or you can suddenly be transported to the hustle and bustle of the day-to-day life of Brazilians.

A very normal Brazilian living room, complete with couch, stools and a collection of utensils invites visitors to spend some time exploring. If you look through the window, you can see life on the streets and even look into other houses. People on the street and families going about their everyday life in Brazil were filmed with fixed cameras and now visitors are able to watch them through the window.

Idea for children and teenagers: A business card of the special kind: If you press against the outer wall of the pavilion you leave the imprint of your body or body parts. The wall consists of thousands of small wooden sticks which can be pushed inside or out.

FOOD & DRINK

During the successive "Regional Weeks" specialities typical of different parts of the country can be sampled, plus: every Thursday evening: Salsa Caipirinha Party with live music from Rio
