Côte D'Ivoire
A forest in a tree trunk
Normally trees are found in the forest. However, the Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) exhibition has turned this concept on its head - here the forest is in a tree.

A tree trunk in the form of a pipe leads visitors to a virtual tropical rainforest. Animal sounds and slide projections turn the walk through the primeval forest into an exciting experience.

At the exit of the forest, visitors will find several oversized brochures containing information about individual projects aimed at protecting the rainforest as well as information on the country and its people. One brochure presents the Thai National Park, which the UNESCO has declared a world heritage monument. The park is an example of the attempts being made by Côte d'Ivoire to preserve the remainder of its tropical rainforest. Once half of the country was covered with forest, but now this area has been reduced to just seven percent.
