Democratic Republic of Congo
How much Water does a Country need?
How much water is there in Bambesa? Water experts in the Democratic Republic of Congo could not provide a precise answer to this question to date. No national data on the amount of rainfall available and on water consumption were available. Within the context of the common exposition of the SADC (Southern African Development Community) nations, the Democratic Republic of Congo is presenting a new national water information network. With the aid of this network, the Republic's limited water resources will be managed and distributed more efficiently in future.

Engineers analyse the water quantities in 20 stations located across the country and transmit the gathered information to the national documentation centre and also to the water management authorities. In future, data from 6,000 existent water supply stations will be combined and evaluated.
