Croatia presents itself like one of its 1,185 Adriatic islands. The pavilion is completely surrounded by water and is only accessible via two bridges. Water flows constantly down the facade, thus recalling nature's water cycle.

In the pavilion, the visitor walks over a glass floor revealing typical Croatian landscapes with karst mountains, fertile planes and sandy beaches, together with the layout of an old church. The natural and cultural versatility of the "mini-continent" Croatia is summarised in a film shown in an Imax cinema. There is also a demonstration of how Croatia combines technical progress with environmental protection.
